Pro-Soil Site Services was founded by Darren Tews, an entrepreneur who developed a strong work ethic and customer-focused mindset at an early age. As a teenager in Lansing, Michigan, he began mowing lawns and completing small service jobs, reaching customers by pedal bike. At 16, he expanded those efforts into a small lawn care business serving residential and commercial clients while finishing his diploma at J.W. Sexton High School. After graduating, Darren continued landscaping while working full-time as a web press printer in Lansing.
After nine years in the printing industry, the company unexpectedly went bankrupt. That moment became a turning point, leading Darren to pursue business ownership instead of returning to another job. In 2002, with two young children at home and a determination to succeed, he founded Pro-Soil Site Services and began building the company from the ground up.
More than two decades later, Pro-Soil Site Services has grown into a leading commercial and industrial fence installation contractor based in Lansing and serving the Great Lakes Region. The company now provides fencing and site services for commercial and residential clients. Darren continues to work full-time in the business, focused on building a strong team and maintaining the high standards that helped the company grow.
